Here are the kiddos eating breakfast:
The drive is a lot shorter than I had thought it would be. Anyway, we got there and it was still really chilly outside. But we made the most of it (admission was free so we were going to go no matter what!). G1 didn't seem to mind the chilly weather once he saw animals. He was ready to see it all. G2 seemed to really enjoy herself the whole time. G3 didn't really give much reaction until we got to the giraffe and then she got excited.
I think the highlight of the zoo for G1 was going on the train. That's all he will still talk about (well, that and Jacob and Marcia being with us). We didn't take a whole lot of pictures at the zoo. It was just too chilly to worry about it. (We will take more this summer when we go, I promise.)
Matt and Jacob (I think they were watching and animal get fed)
G3 (not really pointing at anything, just pointing because I kept pointing things out to her)
G1 and Marcia checking out some birds (Marcia had just had her hand up to so that's why there is that blurry spot right in front of her)
G3 (she would look away every time it took the picture)
Marcia, G1 and Jacob
These are cool little cards they got: they go in order--G1, G2, G3
On the way home we were all pretty exhausted.
G2 was content to stay awake and play....
For awhile
When we got home Mom met us there and stayed the rest of the evening until it was time for Jacob and Marcia to get back on the train. Oh, for dinner we had Slow Cooker Pepper Steak which Matt did do a lot of the work for. As far as I know noone has gotten sick from it yet, so he must have done a good job. :-)
We are glad we got to spend the day with you guys, Marcia and Jacob, and the evening with you Mom. We wish we all lived closer so we could spend more time together. But I guess living apart makes these days more of a treat for us all. :-)
