I called Matt as I was climbing out; conversation went like this: "I just got hit, I'm calling the cops now" and then I hung up. The cops were there less than 5 minutes after I called 911. I was pretty shaken up at that point. I was so worried about the kids and about them over-heating.
To look at my car you wouldn't think there was much damage, but I know that at least the tie-rod is busted. Her car looks pitiful. I know I hit my head a little from the jerk and have a headache, my wrist hurts too. My mom came to get the kids and I home. Matt came from work to make sure we were all okay.
We can't pick up a rental (covered on insurance--thank goodness!) until Monday.

*Note--MAKE SURE YOUR CURRENT INSURANCE CARDS ARE IN YOUR VEHICLE! I didn't have my current insurance cards in the truck and the web-page was down so Matt couldn't get them printed out (I had him stop home on his way so he could get the cards). So, it took a lot longer than it should have to get the okay to leave. The officer called the insurance company and talked to them.
Oh, and the girl doesn't have insurance!!

Wow!, I'm glad you guys are all okay, you are aren't you Ronda. Like Mom always says: "At least I'm not driving like the idiots out there that drive like me."
Oh no! I'm so glad everyone's alright! That's scary, having all the kids in there. Here there aren't laws about carseats, so most kids (even babies!) are just held or are roaming around the vehicle. It's sad, because it makes it so easy for a little one to be injured or worse in even a minor accident. That's great that you can get a rental, but it stinks that you hafta deal with this at all.
And that is why even good drivers buckle their children in car seats. Because anyone else might not be a good driver. I am glad you are ok.
I'm glad Gavyn had fun with his cousins afterwards at the festival. Let's do it again next year without the crash.
