200,000 Miles

I was going to post this last week when it happened but forgot.

While we were driving to Peoria last Tuesday they van reached 200,000 miles. And I got a picture. Nothing really special about this I just had to share. :-)

Oh, and this is what my wonderful husband was doing when it happened. (He will kill me if he knows I posted this picture-but I don't care because he never looks at the blog anyway.)

Yummy!

For dinner tonight we had pasta with meat sauce. It was the first time I let the girls feed themselves a very messy dinner (they have feed themselves other things, of course). They loved it, but they sure made messes. I just had to share pictures of them-and one of G1 because he wanted his picture taken too. :-)

G1 (of course)

G2

G3

Last night G2 got ahold of G1's applesauce cup (it was mixed berry flavor-Scooby Doo applesauce).

I also thought it would be fun to share a picture of G1's first time feeding himself spaghetti. He was so little. :-/

One year ago today....

We had our first ultrasound and found out that we had 2 little miracles growing inside me. It was such a wonderful and special day. In seven weeks our little girls will be 1. Everyday I wonder why we were blessed with these wonderful children.

10 Month Check-Up

The girls had their 9 month well child check today (at 10 months). G2 weighs 16 lbs and is 27.5 inches tall. G3 weighs 16 lbs 3 oz and is 27 inches tall. Everything seems good. We go back in December for their year check-up.

Costume time!!

For Halloween this year the kids are going to be Thing 1 (G2), Thing 2(G3), and the Cat in the Hat (G1). Marcia made the hair for the girls. We got red blanket sleepers for them to wear and red mittens. Mom made all of G1's costume. We went to try on G1's costume today. I put the girls in their costumes so I could get pictures of all the kids.

Teeth

G3's second tooth came through today. YAY!! It's about time. G2 started clapping the other day. She just looked up at me and smiled and then started clapping. It was so cute. :-) G1 had another tooth come through yesterday. Now he just has 2 more until he has all 20 that he should have right now. I still don't have any pictures to post, but I promise soon I will post pictures. That's it for now!

It's been a few days....

It feels like it's been forever since I posted anything. I apologize to those of you that check in on us to see how things are going.

There really isn't much to tell. Matt has been working quite a bit lately. With Christmas and the girls' birthday coming up soon we need all the money we can get right now-plus trying to find a place to live closer to work for Matt.

I have started working on the girls' birthday invitations, but they seem to be taking me forever. But on the plus side the building is reserved now for me (thank you Cathy!). I can't believe in just under 2 months my baby girls will be a year old. It seems so insane. I can hardly believe it. They should still be little 3 pound babies. :-)

What's new???

G1 is talking better and better everyday. He is repeating just about everything he hears. He is remembering things so well. He is also learning how to use his pronouns correctly. It's so amazing to listen and watch all the new things he does/says. It seems like it was just a few days ago when I was planning his 1st birthday party and thinking that he should still be a little 4 pound baby. (I better stop reminiscing about my itty bitty babies or I will start to cry.) :-)

G2 is climbing all over the place. She is walking along the furniture. She does pretty well walking while holding onto our hands. She still only has the 2 teeth. She is definitely still the bully of the 2 girls but she is also the more sensitive one. G2 waves bye-bye now-not all the time, but she still does it.

G3 is also climbing all over the place. She also walks all along the furniture. Still only the 1 tooth for her. I guess she just needed the one, so that I would stop calling her my toothless wonder. :-) G3 is waving bye-bye when we say bye-bye. She also signs done. She will occasionally say "Bye-Bye" when she waves. Yesterday she learned how to clap and this morning she said "Yay" while she was clapping. So cute!!!

Everyday it is more and more fun to watch the kids interact with each other. They are all playing so nicely together now.

I would post some pictures this time but the cameras are out in the Jeep and frankly I don't feel like going outside right now. Sorry.

I've been sick this week. Not much fun considering Matt hasn't been home to help out. But I'm starting to feel better today.

I just looked over at the kids and right now G1 is showing the girls the pictures in G3's photo album from when she was just born and still in the hospital. It is so sweet. :-)

I will try to not let so much time go by before I post again. I will also try to have pictures next time. Have a good day/week everyone!! :-)

What are some people thinking??

I was at the store with all 3 kids Monday evening. We got to the check out and the cashier noticed I had a double stroller. She asks "Twins?" Well, at this point I am already annoyed from being stopped a million times in the 10 minutes I was in the store and G1 was being a well, 2-year old. So, I wasn't the most polite when I answered "Yes." Then she asked "Both girls." DUH! Don't you see all the pink??!? "Yes", I replied. Then she says to G1 "I feel sorry for you." I said "Don't." She says "Oh, is he deserving of it?" I was thinking "What the heck is wrong with you!?!?" I simpled replied "No, twins are a blessing. He is very blessed." She says "Oh, well I was a terror for my brother." I said, "Well, the girls aren't you. They all love each other very much. So, don't feel sorry for him, he is happy." Then she just stammered trying to come up with something to say and finally hurried to get my 5-6 items rang up.

I was so annoyed leaving the store. I just could not believe anyone would say something like that to a 2 year old. I've had an older woman tell me and Matt that she felt sorry for us and I though that was bad enough, but to say it to a 2 year old!! You've got to be kidding me!

My hair

I went and got my hair cut today. Matt really likes it. I'm okay with it, as long as it is easy to do everyday (which I know it will be). I just needed to lose some length. These aren't the best pictures, but they will have to do for now. I look extremely tired in them too....because I was/am.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub 3 Gs in a Tub

Saturday, there was a Prickett family reunion. So, I went over Friday night and stayed at Ronda's house. In the morning everyone got up and got in the tub. Only the 3 Gs got in at the same time. (G3 just got her hair washed-that is why the face she makes)

G2 decided to climb out of her seat while G1 got his hair washed.

She was pretty proud of herself!

We were the first to arrive to the reunion. We saw cousins Gary & Debi. Gary G2 and G3 all have the same hair style! Gary is holding G3 while Debi holds G2.

We saw sister/aunt Mallory. (G2)

We saw some of the Gs cousins.

YAY for teeth!!!

G3's first tooth is finally through. I didn't think this day would ever come. :-) Her bottom right (in front of course) tooth is through!! She looked at me like I was nuts when I cheered-and then she laughed. G2 seemed upset that we weren't cheering for her, so I cheered for her having teeth too and she grinned real big and laughed. lol :-D

We no longer have a toothless wonder. :-)

Silly kids :-)

G1 has started calling his elbow his "arm knee". It's really funny and super cute-if I do say so myself. :-) He has also started 'correcting' me when I say Geneva. He tells me "No, Mom-Gretchyn!" Well, of course I am right and he is wrong-but it's cute that he does that. All because we correct him when he calls G3 Ge-a.

Tonight G2 crawled up underneath the seat of the exersaucer and stood up with her head in the seat part. She was so funny. She looked out through the leg hole and just laughed. She had G1 and G3 cracking up too.
After G3 got finished eating lunch today she passed out in her seat. One second she was looking around 'talking', the next minute she was asleep.

Matt and I exchanged anniversary gifts today-instead of waiting until Monday. We both knew what we were getting and wanted them NOW! lol :-) I got a video camera. YAY!!! Matt got Halo 3 (for those of you that don't know what it is, it is a game for the XBox 360). :-( I know I got it for him, but I hate him playing games on the stupid XBox. He ignores everything and everyone around him all day long when he is playing. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is I got a video camera and I am super excited to really start using it. :-)

Ramblings....

The kids are all becoming so much fun, and soo much work. They like to follow each other around. Generally it is G1 in the front leading the way. He will get down on his hands and knees and say "Come on Ge-a" (leaving out the -nev- part of Geneva, it's what he calls them both), then takes off with the girls following. Sometimes the girls will just following each other; they will go into G1's bedroom, through the bathroom, into my bedroom and then back to the living room. They could do that all day long if I would just leave the doors open. It is so much fun watching them all interact-when they aren't fighting. The girls have really started to fight each other over toys and bottles and cups and everything. They also have started fighting with their brother over the same things.

We have been dealing with a lot of whining lately. I can't take it. I don't know what has gotten into all the kids, but all they do is whine. I'm about to lose it. Matt and I are going to St. Louis for our anniversary (October 1st) on October 2 and 3 and I can't wait! I will finally get a break from all the whining.

I can't wait to move. I hate living here with Matt working an hour away from here. He is just gone from us way too much. Plus I am sick of never having a vehicle because we only have the one and he always has it. There are days that I will drop him off to carpool, but there is one guy that he carpools with that makes me feel horrible for doing that. I don't understand what the big deal is about me dropping Matt off on days that he is not driving the carpool, but whatever. So, the kids and I are stuck at home all the time and it's driving us all nuts.

The house is disgustingly messy. I just can't get anything done. Anytime I try 1 to 3 kids start screaming at the top of their lungs, and if they don't start screaming than G1 (sometimes the girls too, but mainly G1) takes everything out of everything and throws all the trash around the house. So, that defeats the purpose of me cleaning. I just think it would be easier to pack everything up and move instead of trying to clean everything up. :-/

Laundry hasn't been done is who knows how long. Well, I have washed diapers and Matt's work clothes, but for the most part laundry just doesn't get done. I don't have a chance to do it. I can't go down to the basement for more than a second because I can't trust G1 with the girls. I don't ever get clean laundry put away so that makes me even less motivated to do more laundry.

I need to hire someone to come in and clean, but there is no way I would let anyone in with the house looking the way it does. Or I need someone to take all 3 kids for a day so I can clean, but noone will take all 3. It's either G1 or the girls, generally just the girls because G1 is so out of control that noone ever wants to watch him. It's frustrating.

I'm sorry this is so down and depressing, but I've had a lot going on and I've been needing to vent. I just don't have hardly anyone to vent to about things. :-/

Oh, Aislinn the diapers I use are Dappi brand I think. They are just cheap diapers that I found online. I had tried prefolds, but G1 learned how to undo the diaper pins and I couldn't figure out how to get them tight enough. If I had all the money in the world I would love to get SwaddleBees. I have a few of them and absolutely love them, but they are just so expensive. What kind are you using? Got any tips for me??

I almost forgot, here are a couple of funny pictures from the other day. I was feeding G3 lunch and G1 decided he wanted to help. He did a pretty good job-at first. Then as you can see better from the second picture he got it all over her face. He finished up by eating most of it. lol

I will try to be more upbeat next time. :-/

Diaper update

Our new order of diapers came on Thursday. The fit!! :-) Of course they leak a little so I am still trying to figure that out. But I have them and I WILL make them work!!

Nothing else new right now, I don't think. ;) But I will try to post a longer post later.

Bath time

We got new bath seats for the girls so I can bathe them at the same time. They seemed to really like them. G1 even got in and took a bath with the girls.
Oh, and we have another tooth. G2's tooth next to the other one popped through today. G3 is still working on hers-which I can feel through the gums, but it won't come through. So G2 has 2 and G1 has gotten 2 in the time and G3 is still hanging in at being the only toothless one!

Playing at Grandma's

G1 went to Grandma and Grandpa's (Matt's parents) for a little while yesterday. When the girls and I got there to pick him up he had just fallen asleep so the girls got to play for a while. They played with Grandma's 'babies', which NO ONE is ever allowed to play with. Cathy told the girls they should feel lucky. :-) Then Great-Grandma showed up for just a few minutes and the girls chased her dog, Buffy. I had just gotten them new headbands and I wanted to show them off, that's the main purpose of this post. :-)
